Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) and its Austrian partner universities have formed a strong research network for electronic based systems (EBS) with the objective to make young research talents thrive and to deliver excellent research results of high relevance for the academic and industrial EBS ecosystem.
The SAL Doctoral College (SAL-DC) is a novel doctoral training program for researchers in the field of EBS. SAL cooperates with industry, academic and scientific partners on a regional, national and international level with the aim of building an excellent research network and ecosystem for EBS. Fellows benefit from training in a highly international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral setting offered by SAL-DC to become future research leaders.
The SAL-Uni Labs are chartered to perform applied fundamental research in selected areas of EBS with scientific excellence. By interdisciplinary research between several university institutes and SAL, it is the goal to jointly generate ground-breaking research results that can be leveraged in future cooperation projects with industry partners.
The SAL Innovation-Hubs with the Universities of Applied Science (Fachhochschulen) are chartered to perform applied research in selected areas of EBS with high relevance for near-term innovations of our industry partners. Research results can be leveraged quickly in future cooperation or contract research projects with industry partners.
